Day Ten

Sto. Nino Church outside view
Today has been a casual day. Still tired from our trip to Dumaguete. For some reason, got up early again to the sounds of fireworks and loud noises, apparently auntie charito mentioned that it was the Kalibuhan fiesta. No real plans today. Richard suggested we go and see Sto Nino Church and Fort San Pedro. So me, Richard and Fred went to town about 1030 hrs. First went to Sto Nino Church, it's located downtown and not situated in the nicest part of town, very crowded, lots of beggars. By the way, the heat was bothering me a lot.

Richard showed us the inside of the Sto Nino Church, there was a mass going on when we were there. Being a saturday, it was not as busy as friday but in my books it was still overcrowed, churches back home don't get this busy.
Place to light candles for thanks or praying for something particular
After the tour inside the church, went outside as there was an area to light candles to say thanks or pray for something specific, very much swamped with ladies who sell candles (usual vendors at this particular church).

Then outside the Sto. Nino Church went to Magellan's Cross where i got swamped with ladies who sells candles again. I bought from one and everyone just wanted me to buy from them as well. It started to irritate me but what can you do that is how it is here. Walked back through the church again as the other exit is where our car is waiting. We were originally planning to go Fort San Pedro afterwards but found out it was not accessible due to some work construction.

It was nearly lunch time, so we ended up going to Majestic Restaurant which is a chinese buffet for lunch and met up with Sheila and Auntie Charito. The buffet was interesting, i did enjoy it but unfortunately since ive been back in Phili i have been having the runs, im not sure maybe the food doest not agree with me anymore, so i am very careful what i eat. Thank god their toilets were clean...
Went shopping afterwards at White Gold, a shopping centre that used to be famous when i was very young before we migrated to OZ. Auntie Charito had a discount and was the cheaper place to buy levis jeans. Bought a few clothing for me, Fred did not find anything he liked. Was commenting on the brands, he said instead of wrangler, they had wringler, he thought it was funny.
Went to another shopping centre, the famous SM. Walked around for an hour, but a few desserts.
Me at Magellans Cross
Went home afterwards, just had dinner at home....
